Class Descriptions
6 - 9 yrs Monday 4:15-5:15pm
This rigorous movement class provides children with the opportunity to explore Modern, Jazz, and Ballet techniques. Taught with the intention of training smart, thoughtful, well rounded movers, we will explore the importance of solid dance technique and its use within improvisational structures. Dancers gain strength, flexibility, and the ability to use movement as a means of self expression.
Classes are taught as a progression and are intended to be repeated.
$60 per month
3 - 5 yrs Tuesday 3:15-4pm
This creative class for little ones holds space for children to move their bodies while learning kinesthetic awareness, balance, and rhythm. Children explore independence, locomotion, shape-making, and storytelling through movement.

10- 12 yrs Tuesday 4:15-5:30
Perfect for kids who dance at home but don't want to take a dance class, or for those who take dance technique and want another class to compliment it; this improvisation and choreography class helps dancers relax in what they know, and encourages them to start making something out of it. We will explore all kinds of different ways to improvise movement through warm ups, different styles of music, and movement games. A unique class for unique kids this class is as much about children getting to know themselves and finding their voice, as it is about dance. If your child wants to be a professional dancer this class will make them a smarter and more articulate dancer. If your child just enjoys dancing, this will only encourage their love of movement by keeping them curious and challenged -pushing them to follow their own questions, and answering them in their own way.

10 - 12 yrs Tuesday 5:45-6:45pm

7 - 9 yrs Thursday 4:15-5:30
For kids who dance but don't want to take a dance class! We will explore all kinds of different ways to improvise movement (what they do now in their living room). What's the smallest movement you can make ? What kinds of different rhythms can you do with your body? Can you do that same movement on the floor or up in the air? These are the kinds of questions played with along with other movement games and structured improvs (dances). Kids will work as individuals and in groups. Parents will get a chance every couple months to come see what structured improvs are and how one's child can start choreographing...now.
